Leslie Feist

A Loudersoft favorite and the pride of Canada Leslie Feist has captured the Shortlist Prize for Music. Feist’s album The Reminder has won it’s fair share of fans over these last many months and has, at last, received deserving recognition. Feist is the first Canadian artist to win the award in its seven-year history. She joins past non-U.S. winners of the prize Irish songwriter Damien Rice and Iceland’s Sigur Ros. According to the shortlist website:

Feist was chosen by a panel of five Listmakers: recording artists Gary Lightbody (Snow Patrol) and Ronnie Vannucci (the Killers), journalist Rev. Moose (CMJ), radio DJ Chris Douridas (KCRW) and the hosts of Hunnypot Internet Radio.

In a statement, Listmaker Gary Lightbody called The Reminder “the album of the year for 2007 or any year I can think of: it’s modern and classic all at once. There are so many kinds of beauty in this record.”

If you’re the last person to know and you haven’t bought this album, purchase downloads from Amazon by clicking here. It is well worth every penny. Congratulations, Leslie.
