Loudersoft - A Music Blog Dedicated to Post-Alt Pre-NeXT'ers

I am a sucker for handclaps. I am also a sucker for horns and silly pop songs. Therefore, it only makes sense for me to spin a song that I recently discovered for all of you. The band is called Monkey Swallows The Universe and their song “Jimmy Down The Well” is great. A fun song to dance around to on a summer night where the sun is still shining for the last half-hour of the day. And have I mentioned the handclaps and the horns? It makes this song go from twee-cute to awesomely mellow. (Yes, too many adjectives there. But, the adjectives are well-deserved. This song is great.) This fits right in for those of you who are into bands like the Decemberists that take the mellow indie rock and quirk it up. You won’t be disappointed. Those who love pop can love this as well. At least support these guys and buy some stuff.
