So as EJ and I discovered, writing and posting from Bonnaroo comes with its own unique difficulties. Most of which consist of over-the-top cool events going on all the time to distract you from the internet.
Friday’s events wrapped up with shows from Aesop Rock, El-P, and DJ Shadow. Aesop brought Rob Sonic on stage as a backup MC, and the duo worked out pretty well. Aesop was stellar as always, and Sonic’s vocals added a nice twist to the out-of-this-world lyrics that one can expect from Aesop Rock.

Honestly, sometimes the words I write don't do justice to the situations that I'm in. At Bonnaroo, that's often the case -- it's so three-dimensional all the time that trying to put the English language to task seems unrealistic. Here's some pictures that I'm particularly proud of, from shows I've enjoyed to old friends I've seen again.
Girl Talk
The day's events started off for me with the Brazilian Girls. Bonnaroo's hot sun always makes sleeping in a challenge, but fortunately, the Brazilian Girls' mellow but up-beat rhythms were just what was needed to start the day on the right note. The show included most of the songs off of the Girls' latest album, Talk To La Bomb.
The Roots. When I saw The Roots at the second Bonnaroo festival, in 2003, I thought their performance lacked a certain something. There was a disconnect with the audience, which left attendees wanting something more. But after ...
