It's hard to compare and contrast one show by The Flaming Lips versus another unless, of course, you've seen them through the various manifestations of their thing. I had a conversation about the shows we used to see in the late 1980's and early 1990's of the Lips with their bubble machines and their light shows that really served as a launching pad for what the crowd at Bonnaroo got to experience this year. Honestly, sometimes the words I write don't do justice to the situations that I'm in. At Bonnaroo, that's often the case -- it's so three-dimensional all the time that trying to put the English language to task seems unrealistic.
